So... recently Excelsior is advising not to put the tape on the table for the wound station during the CPNE. What has been your experience during the test and other test takers??
You after you pack the wound, place the 4x4, then the ABD, I would take off sterile gloves, quickly put on clean gloves, then
tape the wound. I know... I know... about the tape and gloves but I would do it the safest way so no matter how stringent of a CE you get, you are always covered.
Be careful when testing at sites where they have the wound on the arm/curved surface. I would not change gloves in this case but try to hold the dressing with one hand and maneuver the tape to secure the dressing in place.
